GEO benchmarks

Put AI visibility in context

A single score needs a comparison group. Explore historical AI visibility distributions by industry and region, with the sample size and measurement limits alongside the numbers.

Start with your comparison group

The public benchmark browser reports historical Phase 1 study distributions. Choose your industry, then an available region. Each bucket shows its own sample size. A global bucket and a local bucket are distinct groups.

For broader published research findings, use the AI search statistics page. V6, Wave 2 results are pending and are not part of these benchmarks.

How to read the percentiles

Reference points in each published distribution
LabelMeaningUse it for
p2525th percentileThe lower part of the measured distribution
p50 / median50th percentileThe midpoint of the measured distribution
p7575th percentileThe upper part of the measured distribution
p9090th percentileA reference near the top of the measured distribution

Percentiles describe the observed sample. They are not forecasts or recommended targets. A bucket needs at least 10 businesses to publish; individual signals can have different non-null sample sizes.

What the browser includes

AI outcomes

Historical AI visibility score and share of model. The composite score belongs to the original measurement design and should not be compared directly with a new per-engine test.

Business signals

Google review count and rating, domain authority, schema markup and citability. These describe measured signals; they do not establish causal ranking factors.

Industry and region

Use an exact matching bucket and retain its sample size when citing a percentile. Do not substitute a nearby region when a bucket is unavailable.

Methods and citation notes

The browser is built from the historical Phase 1 study tables, not a live census of businesses. The expanded v3 paper examines 2,729 businesses and has separate findings and coverage caveats. Read the methodology hub before comparing these sources.

When citing a benchmark, link to the exact industry and region page and include the signal, percentile, sample size and access date. The browser can change as available aggregate buckets change.
